OPET is transferring work processes into SAP Netweaver

OPET has aimed to be "100% Netweaver" in 2008. A variety of integration projects have been initiated with SAP Netweaver Portal, Netweaver Mobile Reporting, Netweaver PI (XI) Integration and Paro Score Integration. Additionally Business Intelligence (BI Netweaver) is being deployed to collect information across all OPET gas stations, to enable more accurate comparisons with the competition, thus improving OPET's competitive edge.

OPET required in 2008 a new configuration of the SAP infrastructure and related technical solutions. OPET Petrol A.Ş. is active in selling commercial and industrial fuels, mineral oils, storage and is involved in international trade issues. The Koç Holding Energy Group, who owns 50% of OPET from the end of 2002 , is since it's foundation continuously investing in new technologies and research and development. FIT technical consultants have realised, together with the OPET SAP project team, a number of projects on the Koç system, delivered within the agreed timeframe and with the required functionality.

To realise these projects, SAP Netweaver technologies have been utilized for 100% of the functionality. The first OEPT dealers already work with the dynamic infrastructure of SAP Portal and the related functionality. The dealers require up-to-date information regarding the sales and distribution, and accurate financial numbers. SAP Portal also included intelligent building blocks from Business Intelligence to retrieve relevant knowledge regarding the economic situation from the Data Warehouse and to enable reporting about the services of the different dealers.

With SAP PI (XI) integration has been realised with the Koç Paro system. This combination, PI integrated on top of BPM (Business Process Management) toosl, has automated the retrieval of up-to-date information. Thanks to this integration, the OPET gas stations have realised the third position in the market. The BI integration with PI offers access to specific information from both an SAP Portal as well as from mobile devices for the teams on location. From any location OPET employees have direct access to for example the central data concerning actual sales numbers. The existing mobile phones have been integrated with ECC 6.0 and BI for the local teams. This allows the dealers to regularly compare data concerning the purchases and the sales targets:
  • Station sales numbers
  • Comparing purchases and sales across dealers
  • Historical comparisons across dealers
  • Client reports (Accounting, Sales)
Result: simplified mobilisation of business processes and facilitated daily business activities for the local teams.
