Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation Ministry (The Ministerie van Economische Zaken, Landbouw en Innovatie) is one of the eleven ministries of the national government of the Netherlands.  Its mission is to promote sustainable economic growth in the Netherlands.In 2010, the national government of the Netherlands began implementing a new standard for working with suppliers.  As part of its e-government program, the Netherlands government designed Digipoort, a system for the rapid, reliable and secure exchange of information between government agencies and private parties involved with the government. The Digipoort system was based on a particular specification of ebMS and ebXML, a family of XML based standards sponsored by the United Nations Centre for Trade facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) and Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS).Basically, The Dutch government introduced Digipoort to facilitate e-invoicing from companies to governmental organisations.

Digipoort enables electronic data-exchange between governmental organisations and companies in a simple, fast and reliable manner.   The goal is to improve services and communication between the government and private companies.

Digipoort functions as an electronic post-office, to enable:

1. Integrating companies with SAP to the Digipoort e-invoicing post office;
   • BeneFIT contains an efficient solution to  retrieve invoices from SAP and transform them into any required format for the receiver, in this case UBL 2.0, to integrate with Digipoort.
2. Integrating governmental organizations with SAP to the Digipoort e-invoicing post office;
   • BeneFIT has the functionality to transform any given e-invoice format (in this case UBL 2.0) into the required iDoc format to enable automatic processing of the e-invoicing into to SAP.
   • Additionally, FIT also offers a workflow solution for further processing the invoice within SAP, the different approval steps up to actual payment of the invoice.
